Day 1: Relax, You're on River Time

Family at the river

There is no better way to kick off your Hill Country Spring Break then diving right into one of our two beautiful flowing rivers. Perfectly located between Comal River and Guadalupe River, New Braunfels a great spot for water recreational activities and cultivating appreciation for natural resources! The Comal River is spring fed and offers a consistent float experience with limited rapids, while the Guadalupe River is fed by releases from Canyon Lake which can vary and offers a more rugged experience. Whichever you fancy, choose your float & get out there!

Day 2: Gruene, Texas is Calling Your Name

Gruene TX Sign

Right in the middle of New Braunfels, you can find the Gruene Historic District at the Water Tower -- uniquely preserved to provide an experience that has the signature seal of the Lone Star State you won't soon forget! Gruene has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, with many of the buildings being awarded a Texas Medallion from the Texas Historical Commission. At the heart of it all lays Gruene Hall, the oldest continually operated dance hall in Texas, where you can shuffle across the original hardwood floors. And, aside from the Hall, Gruene is chalked full with plenty of shops, restaurants, and to-die-for happy hours -- its easy to see why it has been recognized as a premiere attraction for visitors by the Texas Travel Industry.

Day 3: Head South to Natural Bridge Caverns & Wildlife Ranch

Natural Bridge Caverns

Just a mere 15 minutes south you will find Natural Bridge Caverns & Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. While these guys are neighbors -- they are sure to deliver two very different experiences! Whether you fancy zipping on the Twisted Trails 60 feet high above Texas, exploring 180 feet below ground in one of the many tours offered at the Caverns, or exploring through the drive-thru "African Safari, Texas Style" to witness the vast 450-acres of free-roaming exotic animals, you are sure to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

Day 4: Gone Golfing

Landa Park Golf Course

Take it to the green! Surrounded by the scenic Comal Springs, Landa Park Golf Course offers an 18-hole public course, spread out across 122-acres of Texas Hill Country views. Each hole has a set of four tees, sculpted fairways, bunkers and water hazards to not only challenge the most seasoned player, but allow for the novice in us all to enjoy with an unforgettable experience!

Golf isn't your thing? No problem -- while those in your party play a round, pop over to Landa Park. There you can rest at the picnic facilities under the shade of giant, ancient oaks trees, walk on the parks' trails, ride a miniature train that takes you around the 51-acre park, play miniature golf, hangout at the playground, or take one of the paddle boats out to see the Comal Springs. You never know, you may even see the rest of your party while you're out!
