New Braunfels will start the year with the addition of a Hawaiian restaurant. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is adding a Texas outpost to its network of more than 200 restaurants throughout the country.
The San Antonio location of L&L broke the news of the New Braunfels location on Saturday, December 25. The social media announcement shows the New Braunfels storefront just about ready to welcome customers.
"A new L&L is opening in New Braunfels late January," the post says. "Stay tuned for details!"
The local franchisees were not immediately available to share an address for the New Braunfels location, but a TikTok version of the announcement, also shared by the restaurant's account, says the new L&L is located off State Highway 46 and Interstate 35.
San Antonio's sole L&L location opened on Austin Highway in May 2014.
If you haven't been, L&L describes its menu as an "Asian and American fusion take on the classic plate lunch." The comfort food offerings include barbecue chicken, chicken katsu, fried shrimp, Kalua pork with cabbage, loco moco (hamburger patties on rice topped with fried eggs and gravy), and Spam musabi.
