On March 2, 2020, Hunter Davis had just quit his bartending job to focus on music — with a new album produced by Wilco’s Ken Coomer and shows opening for legends like Aretha Franklin. Hours later, a tornado destroyed his Nashville apartment, leaving him with nothing but his guitar and songs. “It gave me a new perspective,” he says. “Music was all I had left.” Raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, Hunter grew up surrounded by sports, music, and storytelling. He earned a Division 1 football scholarship but left the game after an injury to chase his true passion: songwriting. Influenced by artists like Jackson Browne and Jason Isbell, his Americana sound blends raw honesty with Southern roots. With help from top musicians, he’s built a career on resilience, melody, and heart.
